Kent State University's Barb Boltz wins United Way Volunteer of the Quarter

UNITED WAY Published:

The United Way of Portage County is proud to announce the winner of our fall 2012 “Volunteer of the Quarter” to be Barb Boltz from Kent State University.

Barb Boltz has been a volunteer with United Way for many years and has been a leader on campus and in helping those in need across Portage County.

Barb talked about her thoughts on getting involved in the community.

“I believe in the mission and focus of the United Way of Portage County and have seen the impact that your funding can make in people’s lives. You’re funding of programs that help people help themselves to overcome the difficult situation they are in and move to a better place is so rewarding. I believe that as world citizens and as community citizens, we need to pay it back if we have received help in the past, pay it forward for we may one day need help, and give of our time, talent and treasure to help those in need.”

  • Well congratufreakinlations for volunteering to help a bogus organization bully underpaid state employees into donating to a bogus cause all in the name of public relations. Let's all get ready to fill up that thermometer again next year to make the executives look good.
