Six new benches were added to the Rootstown School memorial garden
Donated by the Class of 2013.
There is now a peaceful place to sit in the Rootstown Memorial garden. Thanks to all the hard work of the Class of 2013 students who raised money for 4 years to help pay for their Prom, Graduation, and with so much effort and dedication they were able to raise enough money to not only hold their Prom, they were able to donate money to this next year’s Prom. The Class then chose to place six concrete benches in the garden, made by a Rootstown Alumni class member of 2012 Kyle Taylor.
Kyle is attending Akron University and using his talents and skills to help pay for college by creating many concrete items, such as benches, fountains, bird baths, and a wide range of sculptures.
To add even more impressive accomplishments of the Class of 2013 they will also be awarding 2 scholarships to the class of 2014 graduates.
The Class of 2013 was directed by their classmates chosen as officers, President Abbi Ohman, Vice President Sarah Wilson, Secretary Kaylee Consolo, and Treasurer Rich King (not pictured)
Abbi will be attending Walsh University, Sarah and Kaylee are attending Kent State University, while Rich who was unable to show for the photo, was working hard at Hiram Football Camp where he will be attending his college studies. The class advisers Donna Walker and Pam Helmling cannot be more proud of these hard working and the professional abilities the officers and class committee who demonstrated enthusiasm, goal setting, constant work ethics, and great spirit to give not only to make their Rootstown High school experience Wonderful but their generosity to give back to Rootstown and our future students. What a great example they have shown future Rootstown students how everyone can make a difference to improve and give back to the Rootstown community and our families.
