LOS ANGELES (AP) -- Prosecutors in Los Angeles have declined to file charges against a man accused of making online threats against elementary schools after the killings in Connecticut.
The district attorney's office said Monday that 24-year-old Kyle Bangayan made no specific threat to a victim or school.
Bangayan told police that he was joking when he wrote that if people don't stop posting about the Sandy Hook Elementary School shootings on Facebook, then he would do the same thing.
He also wrote that thousands of children die in other countries and that Americans needed to get over the shootings.
FBI agents talked to his parents, searched his apartment and car, and found nothing threatening.
