Back surgery for Indians OF Grady Sizemore

CLEVELAND (AP) -- Indians outfielder Grady Sizemore has undergone a minimally invasive lower back procedure in Miami and is expected to miss eight to 12 weeks.

The oft-injured Sizemore, who re-signed with Cleveland in the offseason, required a micro discectomy Thursday that was performed by Dr. Barth Green of the University of Miami School of Medicine.

The team says Sizemore will return to spring training in Goodyear, Ariz., in the coming days to further his rehabilitation. He was limited to 71 games last season, hitting .224 with 10 home runs, 32 RBIs and 34 runs scored.
