Tony Taylor has been added to the U.S. roster for this month's Olympic qualifying tournament.
A few hours after saying he was "exploring our options" to fill the final slot on his 20-man preliminary roster, coach Caleb Porter added Taylor. The forward with Estoril Praia in Portugal came on as a substitute in last month's exhibition against Mexico.
Porter still has until March 20 to finalize the qualifying roster, but his choices could be limited by some foreign clubs' reluctance to release players. Clubs are not obligated by FIFA to release players for men's Olympic qualifying, which is limited to players under 23, or even for the games themselves.
The Americans begin qualifying March 22 against Cuba in Nashville, Tenn.
