Utah Valley defeats Pacific Union 73-43

OREM, Utah (AP) -- Zach Jones scored 18 points and Nick Thompson had 17 points and 16 rebounds to lead Utah Valley to a 73-43 nonconference victory over Pacific Union Monday night.

Ben Aird chipped in 12 points for the Wolverines (13-14), who shot 46 percent and outscored the Pioneers 44-2 in the paint. Jones' point total was a season high, as were Thompson's rebounding numbers.

Marcus Carter scored 13 to lead Pacific Union, which plays in NAIA Division II. The Pioneers were playing the final game of their regular season before the California Pacific Conference tournament begins Wednesday.
