Pickup truck hits snow plow in Ohio, killing teen

PERRYSBURG, Ohio (AP) -- The State Highway Patrol says a pickup truck hit a snow plow in northwestern Ohio, killing a teen passenger in the truck and leaving its 18-year-old driver with serious injuries.

The crash in Perrysburg Township, south of Toledo, happened Saturday amid a blast of snowy weather. Troopers say the plow had been stopped in a median and began to travel onto a perpendicular road when it was hit.

They say the two Toledo teens in the truck were not wearing seatbelts and were temporarily trapped in the vehicle. An 18-year-old girl died at the scene, and the male driver was flown to a hospital.

The Pemberville man driving the snow plow was not hurt.

The crash is under investigation.
