TOLEDO, Ohio (AP) -- Former presidential candidate Herman Cain plans to campaign Friday on behalf of congressional candidate Samuel Wurzelbacher (WUR'-zuhl-bah-kur), who's better known as Joe the Plumber.
Cain is also the guest speaker at the Lucas County Republican Party's Lincoln Day Dinner on Friday evening in Toledo. The Georgia businessman dropped his White House bid in early December.
Cain and Wurzelbacher plan to appear together at an afternoon reception in Rocky River.
Wurzelbacher, a Republican, was put into the political spotlight after meeting Democrat Barack Obama during the 2008 presidential campaign.
Wurzelbacher is facing Steve Kraus, a real estate agent from Sandusky, in the state's March 6 primary for the 9th Congressional District. The district follows the Lake Erie shoreline. Democrats Marcy Kaptur and Dennis Kucinich are also vying for the seat.
