Street party to kick off March Madness in Dayton

DAYTON, Ohio (AP) -- For the first time, there will be a street party in conjunction with the NCAA men's basketball tournament opening games at the University of Dayton.

Last year was the first one for the so-called First Four games in the newly expanded 68-team tournament.

The Dayton Daily News ( ) reports the first NCAA First Four Festival will be March 11. That's the day officials announce brackets for the tournament. The games at the University of Dayton's arena start two days later.

The festival will include food, music, games and televisions for visitors to see the bracket selections. An NCAA official says the goal is to expand the event to include people who don't have tickets for the games.

Dayton is scheduled to host the First Four games again next year.
