Pink suitcase draws bomb squad to Columbus street

COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) -- Investigators say an apparently abandoned suitcase containing food raised suspicions and prompted a road closure in downtown Columbus before authorities determined it wasn't dangerous.

Multiple media outlets report a bomb squad was called Sunday morning after someone reported a suspicious package on a sidewalk. The area was blocked off and evacuated as a precaution while authorities investigated the pink suitcase to determine whether it was hazardous.

Crews detonated the suitcase and determined it contained food and posed no threat.

No injuries were reported. The area was reopened by early afternoon.
