CLEVELAND (AP) -- An Ohio woman shot by her husband inside a crowded Cracker Barrel restaurant had told police two days earlier they had been fighting recently and he had threatened to take their children if she returned to their house.

Katherina Allen told Strongsville police on Tuesday that she left husband Kevin Allen and took their children Sunday and was afraid to return to get her belongings.

Katherina Allen told police she had decided to take the children and stay with a friend.

She said she decided not to pick up items from their house because it would make her husband angry if police responded.

Police say Kevin Allen shot and killed his wife and their young daughter and critically wounded their second daughter Thursday night.
