2015 execution date set for condemned Ohio killer

COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) -- The Ohio Supreme Court has set a 2015 execution date for a man sentenced to die for fatally shooting a 17-year-old girl.

The court on Tuesday set the date as Nov. 17, 2015, for Cleveland Jackson, who also was convicted of killing a 3-year-old girl during the same robbery.

The 35-year-old Jackson received a death sentence for the 2002 shooting of 17-year-old Leneshia (leh-NEE'-shuh) Williams during a robbery in a Lima (LY'-muh) apartment in which six others were wounded.

Jackson originally received a death sentence for the killing of 3-year-old Jala Grant the same day, but the state Supreme Court later reduced that to a life sentence.

Jackson's half brother, Jeronique (jer-oh-NEEK') Cunningham, also was sentenced to death.
