Deer crashes into school window

KINGS MILLS -- A deer broke its leg when it crashed through a window at a junior high school in southwest Ohio. No students or employees were injured.

A Kings Local school district spokeswoman says the deer jumped through a window of Kings Junior High about 7 a.m. Monday, before classes had started. Spokeswoman Lindsay Braud says a teacher and two students in the room fled, leaving the deer trapped inside.

Braud says authorities tranquilized and removed the animal. An Ohio Division of Wildlife official says the male adult deer later had to be euthanized.

Wildlife Management Supervisor Brett Beatty says there's no way to know what caused the deer to jump through the window.

The school in the Cincinnati suburb of Kings Mills in Warren County is near wooded areas.
