Journalism hall of fame inductees released


LEXINGTON, Ky. (AP) -- Names have been released of the five people to be inducted into the Kentucky Journalism Hall of Fame this year.

According to the hall of fame website, the inductees will be:

-- Ralph W. Gabbard, posthumous induction, general manager of WKYT-TV in Lexington and founder of WYMT-TV in Hazard;

-- Bill Goodman, managing editor of KET's "Kentucky Tonight" and other public-affairs programs on KET;

-- Dan Modlin, retired news director at WKU Public Radio in Bowling Green;

-- John Nelson, executive editor at The Advocate-Messenger in Danville and The Winchester Sun in Winchester; and

-- Marla Ridenour, sports columnist, Akron, Ohio, Beacon Journal, a Louisville native.

A luncheon for the inductees will be held April 23 in Lexington.

The five will join 184 other journalists in the Hall of Fame.
