Associated Press Published:

COLUMBUS -- Residents in nursing homes and assisted-living facilities in Ohio have weighed in on whether they are satisfied with their providers.

The Ohio Department of Aging surveyed residents about the care they received last year and recently released the results. Nursing home residents gave their facilities an 87.5 average overall satisfaction rating, with 100 being the top score. Assisted living residents gave their providers a 92.3 average score.

The survey is used to help consumers decide which facility best meets their needs.

The ratings can be found at www.ltc.ohio.gov.

Residents rate their satisfaction with the environment, activities, staff, dining and other services.

More than 27,000 residents in roughly 950 nursing homes participated in the survey. About 11,000 residents in close to 600 assisted-living facilities also took part.
