Rev. Paul Whipple to repeat 1965 sermon on symbols

Published:

The Rev. Paul Whipple will be the guest minister at the 10:30 a.m. worship service on Sunday at Faith United Methodist Church, 1235 Tallmadge Road in Brimfield.

He served there from 1960-1970 and will be preaching the very same sermon he preached on Dec. 12, 1965, "What Shall be Our Sacred Sign?" The message describes the symbols that were a part of the new sanctuary, completed in 1965.

Knowing that many of the present members would not know the meaning of the symbols led Whipple to decide to repeat his original sermon.

Whipple retired in 1989 and is a resident of Copeland Oaks Retirement Community in Sebring.

Members of the building committee will be recognized.

The events are open to the public.
