With all of the discussion about school funding and how local schools have been rated, there has been little to no mention of Common Core State Standards. As currently written, these standards will diminish the quality and increase the cost of education. What does the superintendent of Twinsburg's schools think of Common Core State Standards? What do the members of the school board think of Common Core? What do the candidates running for the school board this year think of Common Core? Will additional taxes be required?
These are questions that must be answered. Common Core will require new textbooks for math and English and significant technology upgrades. Twinsburg taxpayers need to know how these changes will affect them. Parents need to know that Common Core will not improve their children's education. Ignorance is not bliss.
