Life can't be so strict. Amid eating healthy and exercising, there needs to be room for chocolate and television.
"Life in Balance," the topic of this blog, is what I'm striving for -- a lifestyle change. I've lost weight and rediscovered a hobby -- cycling -- that's keeping me active. But I still love good food and drink, and an evening in front of my favorite TV shows. I want to enjoy myself, but I don't want to fall back into my old, unhealthy habits. I want balance. I want to keep what I have (especially my weight loss) and still enjoy what I want (in moderation, naturally).
So, what do I want to talk about with this blog? Anything and everything. Some of it will be personal, discussing my struggles and failures trying to maintain my new, healthier lifestyle. But mostly, I want to have fun, share items that interest me and look for ways to improve myself. Because there is a lot of room for improvement.
@d_p: Chocolate is good for you, but I doubt in the quantities I've been consuming at times. Which will be the topic of an upcoming post. I'm in my late 30s, and got back into cycling last summer. So, we'll see where that leads once spring arrives.
What "items" interest you, and will you disclose your age? I have friends (a couple - both now in their 50's) who have immersed themselves in cycling, then running and cycling, then added swimming. They've since relocated out of Ohio, but their connections through marathon and Ironman competitions keep growing and growing.
