Cleveland's Great Lakes Brewing Company has announced its newest seasonal offering to join the rotating "exceptional family of beers."
According to a press release issued Monday, four-packs of "Spacewalker American Belgo" will hit shelves in June, replacing the Silver & Gold Imperial Pale Lager that made the rounds last year.
"Spacewalker American Belgo is named for the surprising number of astronauts who have called Ohio home. Brewed with Belgian yeast and American hops, including the experimental ADHA 881 hop, Spacewalker is bold yet balanced with spicy, fruity flavors," according to the announcement.
This new, experimental ADHA 881 hop used in the Spacewalker is noted to give off characteristics of banana, pear, peach, herbal and spice.
Sounds like a tasty Belgian brew to me! At 8.2 perecent ABV, Spacewalker is on the strong side, too.
I'm a major Great Lakes Brewing Company fanatic. Their Moondog ESB introduced me to craft beer, and the wide range of their beers really helped expand my interest in different styles. I'm definitely looking forward to nabbing their latest new beer.
