This is No. 15 on the Record-Courier's list of 30 Things To Do in Portage County.
If you love apples or apple cider, you've probably stopped at Beckwith Orchards in Kent.
Right off The Portage Hike and Bike Trail, the farm has been in the family for more than 125 years.
They encourage visitors to walk through the orchard and enjoy the scenery or stop in the bakery for a piece of pie or a cookie.
The season starts in late July or early August with peaches, corn and other seasonal items and goes through the fall with apples, cider and pumpkins.
The Orchard teams up with the Kent Lions Club on the first weekend in August for the annual Sweet Corn Festival, which features live entertainment, food, games, craft vendors, trolley rides and, of course, sweet corn.
