Family Album: The Karl and Bertl Arnstein Print Collection

This exhibition features modern European prints assembled by Akron residents Dr. Karl Arnstein (1887-1974), famed designer of airships for the Goodyear Aircraft Corporation, and his wife Bertl Arnstein (1898-1999), a former member of the museum's Board of Trustees. Now the property of their children and grandchildren, Family Album presents prints from the Arnsteins' collection including works by impressionist painters Camille Pissarro and Pierre Auguste Renoir; landscapes by postimpressionist masters Paul Czanne and Pierre Bonnard; figure studies by Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec; works from the 1910s and 1920s by Egon Schiele, Emile Nolde and Ernst Ludwig Kirchner; and images by American artists James A. M. Whistler and Mary Cassatt. Rare prints by old masters such as Claude Lorrain and Rembrandt are also presented.
