Join Girl Scouts of North East Ohio for the 14th Annual Dessert First Dinner & Auction.

The gala fundraising event sponsored by Little Brownie Bakers, Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company, SummaCare, TRIAD Communications, HPC Integrated Graphics Solutions and the Akron Beacon Journal will take place on Saturday, November 14th at 6:30 p.m. amid the breathtaking views at the Sheraton Suites in Cuyahoga Falls.

Guests will enjoy delectable Girl Scout Cookie inspired desserts created by our area's most talented chefs.

Participating chefs include Chase Phillips of Bricco in Akron, Glenn Gillespie of Edgar's in Akron, Kara Swortchek of Lockkeeper's in Independence, Roger Thomas of Piatto Novo in Cuyahoga Falls, Clayton Cundiff of The Olde Harbor Inn in Akron, Marlin Kaplan of One Walnut in Cleveland, Michael Fiala of The River Brasserie and Bar in Cuyahoga Falls and Sarah Watson of the West Side Bakery in Akron.

In the spirit of friendly competition, desserts will be evaluated on presentation, creativity and taste by a panel of three judges, while guests will have the opportunity to vote for the People's Choice Award.

The event is attended by members of the corporate community, as well as, individuals who enjoy great food and share a commitment to Girl Scouting throughout GSNEO's 18 county region. T

he evening includes dinner, live and silent auctions, dancing and live music by the Stingers.

Proceeds from Dessert First 2009 will help to further the Girl Scout mission of building girls of courage confidence and character, who make the world a better. The Girl Scout Leadership Experience is a comprehensive initiative that includes programming in the following six focus areas: Financial Literacy, Community Engagement, Arts, S.T.E.M. (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math), Environmental Education and Healthy Living.!

Reservations are available for $100 at the guest level and $150 at the patron level, with proceeds benefiting Girl Scouts of North East Ohio.
