The appointment of Matthew Montgomery as principal of Waterloo High School will be considered by the Waterloo Board of Education when it meets Thursday.
Montgomery is currently principal of the middle school. An item on the board's agenda would amend his contract to enable him to head the high school as well as the middle school. The change would be effective Feb. 1.
The board will meet at 7 p.m. in the Andrew C. Herchek Media Center, 1464 Industry Road, Atwater.
