The Game ON! Job fair will be held from 2 to 6 p.m. Jan. 30 at the University of Akron Infocision Stadium.
This is third job fair produced by Record Publishing Co. and its job fair partner, The Community Job Club of Stow, led by Executive Director Diana Miller. Job seekers will have free parking and easy access to the stadium's First Merit Club level. There they will find many area employers looking for qualified local candidates for local jobs. Organizers anticipate that employers and job seekers from Portage, Summit, Wayne, Stark and Medina counties will attend this job fair.
A workshop to prepare job seekers to navigate a job fair will be held at 7 p.m. Jan. 24 at the Community Job Club, 4301 Darrow Road, Suite 2550 in Stow. Topics include: resume preparation; cover letter etiquette, and interviewing techniques. To reserve space, email email@example.com.
With more than 60 satisfied employers and more than 1,000 eager job seekers, past events produced by Record Publishing Co. and The Community Job Club of Stow were highly successful community events that helped many area residents find great local jobs working for great local employers.
Upcoming job fairs include "Careers in Caring" from 2 to 6 p.m. May 9 at NEOMED in Rootstown, and a "Hard Hat/Blue Collar" job fair planned this fall. Look for more information on these events in this newspaper.
Northeastern Ohio employers have noted a shortage of workers in some industries including health care, skilled trades, drivers, customer service and construction fields and participate in widely promoted job fairs like Game ON! to help find qualified workers.
Dix newspapers including the Record-Courier (Portage County), The Daily Record (Wooster) and The Review (Alliance) as well as the Dix community newspapers (Aurora Advocate, Cuyahoga Falls News-Press, The Streetsboro Gateway News, Hudson Hub-Times, News Leader, Stow Sentry, Tallmadge Express and Twinsburg Bulletin) will promote the job fair and drive job seekers to the event.
