F&CS seeks volunteer mentors to teach kids

Published:

Family & Community Services, Inc., a private nonprofit agency, is now accepting applications from seniors, age 55 or older, to be volunteer mentors of children.

Volunteers spend an average of 15 to 20 hours each week in public schools, Head Start programs or faith-based educational facilities. Volunteers can earn a small nontaxable, nonreportable stipend and mileage reimbursement to offset the costs of volunteering.

Classes are now filling up for February. For more information contact Michael Semon at 330-677-3939 ext. 304, or email at msemon@fcsohio.org, or stop by in person at Family & Community Services, Inc., 135 E. Erie St, Suite 301, Kent.
