U.S. Rep. Jim Renacci has been appointed to the House Committee on Ways and Means.

Renacci, of Wadsworth, is serving his second term in the U.S. House of Representatives, for the 16th District, which includes Edinburg, Randolph, Rootstown and Suffield townships and a portion of Brimfield in Portage County as well as Wayne and sections of Cuyahoga, Medina, Stark and Summit counties.

The Ways and Means Committee is the oldest in both chambers of Congress and is the chief tax-writing committee in the House of Representatives.

Renacci joins U.S. Representative Pat Tiberi as the only Ohio members of the committee. As a result of this appointment, Renacci will leave the House Committee on Financial Services and the House Committee on the Budget.
