Strongsville teachers are on strike

About 385 Strongsville School District teachers went on strike Monday morning, Cleveland.com reports.

Cleveland.com reported the strike began outside Strongsville High School, which is the first school to open. Teachers declined comment.

About 140 substitute teachers are keeping the school open for about 6,200 students.

Oberlin College cancels classes after 'hate-related incidents'

Classes at Oberlin College and the Oberlin Conservatory of Music have been canceled for Monday, March 4, 2013, the Chronicle-Telegram reports.

The college canceled classes after several racial and homophobic statements were written on posters throughout Oberlin's campus, according to spokesman Scott Wargo.

Oberlin College is a four-year liberal arts college and conservatory of music in Lorain County, according to the college's website.
