Windham Township juvenile arrested for Facebook threat

Record-Courier staff report Published: December 11, 2012 4:00 AM

A Windham student is being held at the Portage-Geauga Juvenile Detention Center in Shalersville after village police investigated an alleged threat posted on Facebook Sunday night, believed to involve a student or students at Windham High School.

Windham Police Chief Gene Fixler said his department received information Sunday evening regarding the threat. Officers investigated and within two hours of the alleged threat arrested a juvenile suspect at his home in Windham Township, he said.

Fixler said Monday that the department thanked the community for reporting the alleged threat.

"We sincerely thank those in our community, who believe that keeping everyone safe starts with, 'Hear something, see something, say something,'" he said.

Well, Mother (see below) , can't say it was the same person calling in the bomb threat unless it's known to be the same person. Thats how rumor gets started. And we'll have the Wingers in here screaming about things that don;'t exist and they do enough of that as it is.

why weren't parents notified of this? I heard this was they same kid that called in a bomb threat last year. What happened to the 'no tolerance policy'? Why was he permitted back to the school?
