Vigil planned after Ohio slayings

CINCINNATI (AP) -- Community leaders are planning a peace vigil in a Cincinnati neighborhood after two recent slayings there.

The "call for peace" candlight vigil is set for Monday night in the Kennedy Heights neighborhood, northeast of downtown. Community groups, clergy and police representatives are expected to have a presence, along with family and friends of the two men killed last month.

The Cincinnati Enquirer ( ) reports that 52-year-old Christopher Burroughs was fatally shot Wednesday night. Earlier last month, 22-year-old Dominique Hall was shot and killed in the same area.

The event also will give residents an opportunity to sign up to get more involved in efforts to improve safety in the neighborhood.
