CINCINNATI (AP) -- A Cincinnati woman has been charged with aggravated murder in the death of her 15-month-old daughter.
Police haven't said how the girl might have died. She was found when police officers went to the woman's home Thursday afternoon. The Cincinnati Enquirer reports a relative requested that authorities check on the child.
The county coroner's office is investigating the cause of death.
Police arrested 23-year-old Janishcia Cottingham, who was expected to be arraigned Friday. Court records listed no attorney for her.
The child's father, Robert Midell, told Cincinnati TV stations that both parents had sought help in caring for the girl through the Hamilton County Department of Job and Family Services.
WKRC-TV reports a statement from the department said it recently became involved with the family and was assessing the situation.
