TOLEDO, Ohio (AP) -- Authorities have completed DNA testing but aren't yet confirming whether human remains found at a northwest Ohio home are those of a 19-month-old girl missing since early June.
Toledo police say they'll release the test results after talking on Tuesday with the prosecutor's office and the family of Elaina Steinfurth.
She was last seen at a home belonging to the family of a man who was dating her mother. Last week, human remains were found in a box behind other containers and piles of trash in the rafters of a garage at the property.
The toddler's mother and her now-estranged boyfriend are in jail and accused of obstructing justice. No further charges have been filed.
The mother's attorney has declined to comment. Her boyfriend has told reporters he is innocent.
