New Mexico community college has new president

LAS CRUCES, N.M. (AP) -- An Ohio educator will be the new president of a community college in southern New Mexico.

The appointment of Renay Scott to lead Dona Ana Community College in Las Cruces was announced Wednesday by Daniel Howard, vice president and provost of New Mexico State University.

Scott is currently vice president and provost of academic services at Owens Community College in Toledo.

Scott was chosen from among three finalists who were on the New Mexico college's campus last week for meetings with faculty, staff, students and others.

Scott will begin her 12-month appointment on June 1.
