HOUSTON (AP) -- Jurors are hearing about the criminal history of a Houston woman convicted of stabbing her boyfriend to death with a stiletto shoe heel before deciding her sentence.
Ana Trujillo (troo-HEE'-yoh) was convicted of murder for striking 59-year-old Alf Stefan Andersson at least 25 times in the face with her 5 ½-inch stiletto shoe heel during an argument in June at his Houston condominium. Her attorneys say she was defending herself from an attack by Andersson.
During testimony in a Houston courtroom Wednesday in the punishment phase of Trujillo's trial, several police officers told jurors Trujillo had been arrested twice for drunken driving. A former security guard testified Trujillo attacked him, and another man told jurors she broke into his apartment.
Trujillo faces up to life in prison for Andersson's death.
