Cedar Point marks coaster's 50th year

SANDUSKY -- Cedar Point is throwing a party this weekend to celebrate the anniversary of its oldest roller coaster.

The Blue Streak has been thrilling riders for 50 years at the amusement park in Sandusky.

The wooden coaster built by the Philadelphia Toboggan Company gave its first rides in 1964.

Cedar Point gave out cake and T-shirts on Saturday to mark the occasion. They've also invited back Blue Streak operators from years past.

The coaster is named after the Sandusky High School Blue Streaks.
