U.S. Marine Corps Pvt. Adam Tyjeski recently graduated from basic training at Parris Island, S.C.
During the graduation ceremony, he received the Medal of National Defense. He will be leaving Tuesday for Camp Lejeune, N.C. to train for marine combat training.
Tyjeski is the son of Barb and Bill Tinsley of Rootstown and the late Donald Tyjeski.
He is the grandson of Dave and Chris Tyjeski of Mantua and William and Lettie Tinsley of Dickson, Tenn.
He is a 2002 graduate of Crestwood High School in Mantua.
