Ravenna Parks and Recreation Department is offering baby sitter Training class for 11- to 15-year-olds. Participants will gain knowledge, skills, and confidence to care for infants to school-age children.
Training addresses safety issues, preventing injuries and illness, basic childcare, first aid, decision-making skills, and age-appropriate behavior and play. The student will be required to demonstrate several first-aid skills.
Classes are held from 9 a.m. to noon Feb. 22 and March 1 at the American Red Cross building (parking available across the street) in Ravenna. Cost for this class is $40 (checks made payable to American Red Cross). Payment should be dropped off or mailed to Ravenna Parks and Recreation, 220 W. Spruce Street, Ravenna. Class size is limited.
