Members of the First United Methodist Church of Ravenna heard a presentation by Nell and Jim Orndorf about the Quaker Oat Mill of Ravenna, which was founded in 1877. The company later became the national-lyknown Quaker Oats Co. The couple came to the church recently from their Akron home at the invitation of local historian Richard Rufener. A display showing photos of the original Quaker Oat Mill of Ravenna was presented in the churchs assembly room. Nell (left) and Jim Orndorf wear traditional clothing of the late 1800s as they pose with Rufener, dressed as Ravenna founder Benjamin Tappan.
