The Auxiliary of Robinson Memorial Hospital in Ravenna recently held its annual luncheon at Ciprianos Restaurant in Ravenna.

Guest speaker was Stephen Colecchi, president and chief executive officer of Robinson.

Angie Reedy and Lois Shallenberger, co-presidents for 2002, presented the Presidents Report for 2002 to those in attendance.

The Auxiliarys year began with the annual Executive Board Retreat. This event was designed to create an atmosphere of teamwork, cooperation and leadership recognition. From this beginning, the Auxiliary worked on many fund-raising projects and service projects throughout the year. The culmination of the year was again the Celebration of Lights program.

The Auxiliarys fund-raising projects included the gift shop and coffee shop, coffee shop gratuities, Celebration of Lights, Craft Fair, Jewelry Sale, Art Fair, Purse Sale, Book Fair, Style Show with raffle and auction, food booth, Growing Family (baby pictures), and the holiday fund-raiser.

The Auxiliary holds $76,003 in funds toward its commitment of $81,000 to the Palliative Care Unit at the hospital.

During 2002, the Auxiliarys service projects included the Lifeline Emergency Response System, Family Festival at RMH Health Fair, turbans for oncology patients, teddy bears for pediatric surgery patients at Robinson and Kent Surgery Center, videotapes for the pediatric department, Christmas stockings for newborns, the art program, handmade puppets for pediatric patients at Robinson and its affiliates, and labels for Kid Packs.

The Auxiliarys other accomplishments during 2002 included hosting the Christmas dinner and giving bonuses to Auxiliary employees, establishing a scholarship fund, participating in the annual retreat by the executive board, and strategic planning for the Auxiliary.
