Tickets are now available for the Kent State University Womens Scholarship Dinner and Silent Auction March 4 in the KSU Student Center Ballroom.

The event will be held to raise money for an endowment fund that will permit the university to grant an undergraduate female student a $500 scholarship each year. Event organizers hope to double the $2,800 figure that was raised last year.

The event will begin at 4:30 p.m. with a wine reception, preview and bidding. Dinner will begin at 6 p.m. with keynote speaker Nawal Ammar, associate dean of the College of Arts and Sciences. Ammar will speak on In the Company of the Nile: Women and Ecological Justice in Contemporary Egypt. Following Ammars presentation, final bidding will take place from 7:15 to 7:45 p.m. with the winners to be announced at 8 p.m.

Tickets for the event are $14 and can be ordered by calling Cheryl at (330) 672-9230. Donations for the silent auction or to help underwrite the event can be sent to Cheryl Shaw, Womens Resource Center, Kent State University, P.O. Box 1950, Kent 44242-0001.
