Cub Scout Pack No. 3558 recently held its annual Pinewood Derby car races at Southeast Elementary School. Weigh-in and judging of the cars took place prior to the official start of the race. The race commenced at 3 p.m. with the room full of excitement and anticipation as the Scouts waited to see who would win a trophy, said assistant Cub master Terri Starkey. Forty-one Cub Scouts participated in this race. There were Tigers, Wolves, Bears, and Webelos I and Webelos II involved in this fun-filled event. Trophies were awarded to Tiger Travis Cottrell, first place; Webelos Brent Gray, second place; and Wolf Ray Stull, third place. Prior to the Pinewood Derby, each Scout designed and built his own racer.
