On March 7, Doyle and Helen Weber of Ravenna will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary. This will be a special day because Helen (affectionately known as EBB) is proud to boast of this being her 67th birthday. Her husband, Doyle, will turn a young 87 on March 31. So many people are ashamed to share their age, but it should be shouted from the rooftop when God has blessed you to live year after year.

The Webers are two wonderful people who volunteer their time and talent at the Skeels-Mathews Community Center regularly. March for the Weber household is extremely busy because their granddaughter, Crystal, will also celebrate her 26th birthday on March 22. Congratulations and blessings to the Weber family.

Applause, cheers and praises to our own Kelly A. Harris, who was among 12 finalists at the Akron Civic Theatres Showtime at the Apollo on Feb. 14. Kelly was one of the 12 who made it to the finals after being selected from among more than 100 local auditions in January.

Although she was not selected as the winner that evening, Kellys poetry has won her many awards and acclaim throughout Ohio and other states. This win would have afforded her the opportunity to try out at the Apollo Theatre in Harlem, N.Y. Kelly has performed in Detroit, Atlanta, Columbus and often performs in Cleveland.

Kelly will always be a winner to Eddie and I, as well as to many others who have been blessed to hear her original poetry recitals. To find where she will be in the future, or to order a copy of one of her books, go to her Web site at http://geocities.com/kahpublishing.

Let me just say that there are some extremely wonderful people born in the month of March. I may be slightly prejudiced by saying that, but here we go: Yours truly, Toni Brown-Harris, Edith Williams, Damien Fortson, Elaine Walker, Helen Weber, Doyle Weber Sr., Helen Fullum, Pat Dennison, Patricia Williams, Barbara Shavers, Naomi Bush, Luther Fortson Sr., Jay McKinney, Valandia Justice, Jerry Buchanan, Marchae Grair, Crystal Logan and Roy Davis III. Many more blessed and happy birthdays to all of us!

I would also like those of you who knew this great lady, the late Shirley Brown, to keep her in your remembrance.

Send information to MsToniBH@CS.com or to Toni Brown-Harris, P.O. Box 1051, Ravenna 44266.
