The new officers for the Evergreen Masonic Lodge No. 101 recently were inducted in a ceremony at the Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church in Ravenna. The new officers are front, from left, past master Brian Boykin, senior warden; Bruce Bonner, worshipful master; and Armond Scott, junior warden; and back, past master Leroy Milton, treasurer; Wayne Stevenson, master mason; past master William Moore, secretary; and Louis Copeland, past master. The group, which is the oldest black organization in Portage County, will be celebrating its 75th anniversary this year. Bonner said the group is planning more service projects for area communities this year including a prostate cancer screening and several fund-raisers to benefit families in the Kent and Ravenna communities and the King Kennedy Center in Ravenna.
