Staff Sgt. Larry Goodwin Jr., the son of Mr. and Mrs. Larry Goodwin of Ravenna, currently is serving his eighth year with the U.S. Air Force.
Goodwin Jr. has made a career with the Air Force as a firefighter and currently is stationed at Goodfellow Air Force Base in San Angelo, Texas where he is a fire instructor.
He has traveled world wide and met men like Gen. John Jumper, former President Bill Clinton and U.S. Secretary of State Colin Powell. He has won various merits of honor, such as NCO of the quarter and Air Force fire fighter of the quarter.
Goodwin Jr. currently resides in San Angelo with his wife, Theresa, who is the assistant director of First Baptist Child Development Center and currently working toward a bachelors degree in child psychology. They have two children, Marissa, 9, and Kelsie, 7.
He plans on staying with the military until retirement then moving somewhere sunny and warm.
