Garden club installs new officers

The Mantua Center Garden Club met recently for a formal installation of officers and to plan programs and activities for 2003.

The new officers are Barbara Herbold, president; Shirley Ferris, vice-president; Carolin Newell, treasurer; Susan Skrovan, secretary; and Margaret Newell and Dawn Pechman, historians.

The clubs annual Holiday Bazaar is scheduled for Oct. 17 and 18. The fee for an eight-foot table is $25.

Membership is open to anyone interested in learning about flower gardening and who is willing to help with landscaping and the spring flower planting at Mantua Center.

The clubs next meeting will be held at 6 p.m. Wednesday at the Mantua Center Town Hall, 4122 S.R. 82. The guest speaker will be Roy Pancost, Portage County Master Gardener. The meeting is open to the public. Refreshments will be served.
