The first meeting of 2003 of the Mantua Garden Club was held March 3 at the home of Elvira Brockman. Seventeen were present which included four new members Donna Drumheller, Bonnie Frato, Josie Eisele and Gloria Whitledge.

Brockman and co-hostess Lisa Stefanek had the members participate in a potluck lunch with a dessert table.

Those attending welcomed Gladys Votaw of Salem as she presented a breath of spring. She spoke on flower arranging and assembled four flower arrangements as the members watched.

The arrangements were given as door prizes and the winners were Evelyn Park, Lois Eisele, Jean Thomas and Josie Eisele. Votaw shared many tips and information on flower arranging and how to keep indoor plants healthy.

President Diane Lottig conducted the business meeting and introduced the new officers Janice Kondik, vice president and program chairman, Camille Brady, secretary, and Lois Eisele treasurer.

Kondik promised an interesting year of programs and field trips. The next meeting will be at the home of Carol Fenrich on April 7. The meeting is open to guests and prospective new members. For more information, call Carol at (330) 274-2343.
