The Aaron Olmstead Chapter of National Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution recently met at the Patton House in Kent.
Regent Marj Woodring led the ritual, followed by the singing of The Star Spangled Banner. Carolyn Kale read the president generals message. Regent Woodring welcomed three prospective members: Holly McGowan, Katy Watts and Mary Lou Olson. Oleta Anderson gave the national defense message.
It was announced that Continental Congress will meet a week later this year, July 9 through 13, in Washington, D.C.
The program was presented by Donna Crews, director of vocal music at Theodore Roosevelt High School in Kent. It consisted of several students who sang numbers from their upcoming competition to be held later this semester.
Refreshments were served by co-hostesses Janet Watson and Leida Alexie.
The next meeting will be at 2 p.m. April 12 at the Patton House. The meeting is open to those who have an ancestor who served his or her country during the Revolutionary War. For more information, call Woodring at (330) 673-8261.
