New Roots to hold house plant sale

Dorothy Curry, incoming president, opened the recent meeting of the New Roots Garden Club, held at the Portage County Gardeners Center in Rootstown.

A variety of homemade desserts and beverages were served by the hostesses, followed by a 50/50 drawing won by Sandra Nickles.

Curry introduced guest speaker Shirley Riemenschneider, who presented an Ohio bicentennial video, A Time to Celebrate. In addition, Riemenschneider spoke on various state scheduled activities. A celebration quilt, in red, white and blue, to be raffled off, was also displayed.

The April meeting will include a house plant sale and bingo.
