TRASH TO TREASURES

Portage Faith United Methodith Church, 9922 S.R. 44, in Mantua will hold its annual auction and Trash/Treasure sale at the church on Saturday. The auction will begin promptly at 10 a.m. with Craig Beck calling the bids. The Trash/Treasure sale will run from 9 a.m. to noon and a silent auction will be held simutaneously with the oral auction. Showing off some of the items available are, from left, Joanne Hammel, Doris Ann Gharky and Ted Taylor. Among the items in the silent auction are a handmade Holly and Ivy Afghan, a basket of Stanley products, and a set of nearly new golf clubs. A washer/dryer, microwave, chandelier, furniture, hurricane lamp, electric drill, and a metal coat rack are among the tangible items for sale. Also available are services, such as 18-holes of golf certificate, tickets to Six Flags, a truckload of gravel and bulldozing. Food is available all morning and at lunchtime. The event is open to the public.
