The eighth annual Senior Celebration of Achievement will be held May 14 at the new American Legion Hall in Kent.
The doors will open at 11 a.m. and catered lunch will be served at 11:20.
Musical entertainment will be provided by Phil Cartwrights Dixie Land Band.
The Celebration of Achievement is an opportunity to honor area seniors by recognizing them through nominations for the Portage County Senior Citizens Hall of Fame.
There will be at least 20 exhibit tables set up by area agencies who provide services for Portage County seniors. This provides an opportunity to become better acquainted with the various services available in Portage County.
The event once again will be sponsored by the Portage County Board of Commissionsers, and Tell Realty (Silver Oaks Senior Apartments). There are also many community groups who support the event by donating door prizes.
Tickets will go on sale April 1. Tickets will be available from the Portage County Senior Services office or from the Streetsboro Senior Center. Tickets for seniors will cost $4, while all others will pay $8.
