Four fifth-grade students from Lakeview Intermediate School in Stow received honors in this years Child Abuse/Family Awareness Month Creative Poster Contest. The students were asked to create a poster and slogan entitled, A Family Is The entries from Lakeview students, from left, Liz Light, Rick Zavracky, Maria Archer and Brianna Perine were among a group of 40 entries from the elementary school competition that are on display at the Akron Art Museum through May 2. This group was narrowed down from thousands of country-wide entries and then chosen by museum personnel. Light and Zavracky entered the contest as an art class assignment under the direction of Lakeview art teacher Andrea Schepis, while Archer and Perine created their posters under the direction of their classroom teacher Jennifer Moretti.
